Ms Kruti Parekh - a life extraordinary

My impression of magicians was that they did the .disappearing trick. such as the Great Indian Rope Trick, but I was not aware of any magician anywhere in the world who did the .appearing trick.. This young lady just appeared out of nowhere..

This was how Dr. Rajesh Parikh introduced the guest speaker at the last meeting, Ms Kruti Parekh, who gave an interesting presentation styled .Change the way you think . Yoga, mind power and beyond..

Dr. Rajesh pointed out that in the 1980.s when reproductive science was in its infancy, some brilliant scientific advances changed the world. And the work of the legendary Dr. (Ms) Indira Hinduja ensured that the new technology enabled the coming into the world of a little girl who was christened Kruti Parekh.

.She became India.s first baby born with this new technology and, like magic, she not only came into the world, but also brought along several new developments in this field in the country.

.And in the span of her lifetime, India today offers among the best services in this field in the world. While earlier patients came to India for medical tourism (a euphemism for cheap medical treatment), today patients came for its excellent medical services. .Kruti has thus Ms Kruti Parekh . a life extraordinary done a lot for the country,. Dr. Rajesh Parikh added.

A reading of her curriculum vitae makes for interesting reading.

Ms Kruti Parekh is not only India.s first test-tube baby, she is an IT engineer by education and the world.s youngest .artistic illusionist ..

She has held many shows of her programme, .Yoga, Mind Power and Beyond., in 25 countries all over the world, including in Australia, Belgium, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Israel, Norway, Russia, South Africa, the UK and the USA.

At the age of 11 she received the FIE Foundation National Award India 1995 for doing charity work. Three years later, when she was 14, she bagged the Global 500 Roll of Honour, an international award given by the UN Environment Programme. In 2001, when she was 16, Ms Kruti was given the Young Achievers . Award by the then US Consul- General, Mr. David Good.

The Queen of Sweden selected her as a Jury Member for the Children.s Nobel Prize in 2002 and in 2004 she was invited to the World Youth Peace Summit-Asia Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand. Not one to rest on her laurels, Ms Kruti received the Yuva Ojaswini Award in 2005.

She pursued her academic studies simultaneously even as she globe-trotted with her programme. And in 2006 when she was 21, she passed her Engineering (in Information Technology) examination with Distinction.

At the age of 22, she saw the story of her life printed in a book on normal children doing heroic deeds brought out by Free Spirit Publishers, USA. Her story was one of the 30 published in the book, Kids Using Talent & Creativity.

Today, at the age of 23, Ms Kruti Parekh is a Lecturer of Degree Engineering at the D.J. Sanghvi College of Engineering and NMIMS University, Bombay.

Apart from doing charity work, conducting environment awareness programmes and fighting for the removal of .andha shraddha. (blind faith), she has also adopted the Sharda Mandir High School at Gamdevi where she supports 1,000 children from slum areas. She is working to make the school eco-friendly and is involved in its child welfare programmes.

A researcher of .the science of the mind., she has thoroughly studied the Geeta, the Upanishads, the Quran and other holy books to prepare her special presentation, .Change the way you think..

Every paisa she earns through her shows around the world is donated by her as she attempts to spread the message of love and harmony.
