After the success of the first Jal Jeevan Center at the Rafi Nagar Slums in Govandi, on 16th October the 2nd Centre was inaugurated at the Rathodi Malwani Slums in Malad, and this Global Grant project was inaugurated at the behest of DG Gopal Mandhania and President Dr. Mukesh Batra.

Rtn. Suresh Goklaney was nominated to receive the prestiages ‘Rotary Responsible Business Award’ at the hands of RI President John Germ at the United Nations on 11th and 12th November in New York City.On 18th and 19th September, the Water Resources Committee visited drought-affected districts of Yavatmal and Chandrapur near Nagpur in partnership with Rotary Club of Nagpur (RCN). RCB is a partner of RCN in its Global Grant projects for Watershed management in Ralegaon and providing clean drinking water to eight villages in the vicinity of Tadoba Tiger Reserve.

On 18th and 19th September, the Water Resources Committee visited drought-affected districts of Yavatmal and Chandrapur near Nagpur in partnership with Rotary Club of Nagpur (RCN). RCB is a partner of RCN in its Global Grant projects for Watershed management in Ralegaon and providing clean drinking water to eight villages in the vicinity of Tadoba Tiger Reserve.

Other planned projects include:
Inauguration of 3rd Jal Jeevan Centre at Ambujwadi in the Malwani slums at Malad on 21st November 2016.
Installation of toilets in Golibar Slum, Juhu in partnership with Women’s Empowerment Committee.
Global Grant application under process for 4th and 5th Jal Jeevan centres in Sathe Nagar and Adarsh Nagar slums in Mankhurd. Both projects planned for inauguration in the 2nd half of the Rotary year.
Feasibility study is under way at the eight Tadoba villages with Dr. Ajit Gokhale, water management and agriculture expert, of Natural Solutions and local partner Tiger Research and Conservation Trust (TRACT), an NGO belonging to noted conservationists who are members of RCN. The study will determine the feasibility of setting up a model village in Tadoba with emphasis of Water Management and provision of sanitation facilities to the village folk.
