President’s appeal:

Now is the time to wipe a tear

Dear Rotarians,

Some of you may have been surprised at my announcement last Tuesday at our regular Rotary Meeting asking the Rotarians to contribute their mite for the tragedy that struck the city of Mumbai on 26th July.

We all owe a lot to this great city and we are today proudly the product of this city. This city of opportunities has given us our foundation in our young days in school, as we blossomed to our college and higher universities and this city finally opened up doors of opportunities to each and every one of us.

Each one of us may have said many things against the city of Mumbai in some of our weaker moments but none of us can ever stay away from Mumbai.

Some of you may have wondered where your monies would go. Let me assure you dear Rotarians, that each and every Rupee will be accounted for and it will be our desire to touch each one of those affected and wipe their tears and spread a smile across their faces. Isn’t this our mission, dear Rotarians?

As responsible citizens, we need to work towards restoring and rebuilding the lives of those in despair and need. As Rotarians, let us strive to leave a better tomorrow for the future generations!

If you could not respond to my appeal last week, here is my appeal to you today to join hands with me and help your Rotary club reach the helpless and “wipe a tear, spread a smile”!

Yours in Rotary
GUL KRIPALANI
President.

In difficult times, say not what you will do or not, but wait upon God until he makes known HIS way. Where His finger points, there His hand will make the way..

If God sends us on stony paths, He will provide us with the strong shoes. He’ll not send us out on a journey for which He does not equip us well..

If God only used perfect people to do His work on earth, nothing would ever get done. We may be imperfect in world’s eyes, but He overlooks our imperfections.

To have God in our life does not mean sailing on a boat with no storms, it means sailing on a boat that no storms can sink !.
